I am a big fan of the modern Information & Communication Technologies. Earlier in my previous posting I had used it quite effectively, particularly in monitoring service delivery and managing court cases as I was a party in more than 100 writ petitions as SDM apart from other civil cases.
Here in Saiha, things were in previous century, with no system of public participation through pro-active disclosures. So from the first day itself I was after my NIC scientiests:). Then suddenly god helped me by sending one smart guy Arunjyoti, who is good in web designing and had worked in private sector before joining NIC.
Then when great minds meet, the process started...

Still it is under process of development but basic frames we have designed and informations are slowly being uploaded.
Webdesign is also a creative process.... designing color, frames, structures of buttons, heads, then content....
no end to it. One of my friend appreciated it as its color scheme is really good.
I had shown it to our Hon'ble Minister of PHE, Tourism, he was also very appreciative of the design.
But still it is under development, we are hoping to complete the 1st stage by next week, then formally we can rededicate it to the Citizens of India.
In fact in the process of web designing, I also gained a lot... This blogging is a result of it. Further, I also started learning web designing, but I am still at the basic stage... But very soon will pick it up.
At last I request all those reading by blog, to have a look at it and suggest improvement....
further planning... putting videos, good photos (event wise), regular posting of local newspapers as some have agreed to share it... It will help Maras living outside Saiha to get authentic news...
All meeting minutes, plans, documents will be uploaded and a new approach to public participation will be there...
Further planning to make a web based grievance monitoring system through a toll free number helpline number... If anyone can help in designing then I will be highly grateful. Most probably we will use SQL for it.
Now I am going to southern part of my district for three days with Minister.. So no blogging for three days... Bye

Can't wait to see the contents up for all the categories. This way the common people will be able to see what is going on in the office. Today, our officers and office workers need to be accountable for what they do. This website will surely help in bringing some of those to the light. This new development is very exciting...! Unlike the old website, the new one surely does have a web 2 feel and look. A very good start... kudos to you and all of you at the office. See you after 3 days!
